Traffic congestion on I-70 heading to and from Frisco CO and the mountains has been a topic of discussion for years. As well as one key reason many purchase CO mountain real estate like Frisco homes! And today, coupled with snowy weather and increased skier and mountain visitor traffic to their Colorado Real Estate the topic continues with a projected decision time due in 2010. A very popular discussion many have while relaxing in their Frisco condos and other high country CO real estate.

Some of the solutions include widening I-70 as well as a mass transit system that both will offer solutions to the high traffic congestion currently found along I-70 and through areas like Frisco Colorado. Which one will it be is undecided and one of the main topics of debate or disagreement - should I-70 be widened or should a mass transit system run along I-70 to help with congestion to and from Frisco CO homes and other mountain real estate. And, of course, once something is decided then comes the issue of what will it cost, where will the money come from, the environmental issues as well as how long will it take. This tends to be a very interesting discussion for those that own Frisco real estate as well as those that are interested in owning Co mountain real estate.
While this discussion has been going on for decades now the estimated cost to complete a solution run from several hundred million dollars to over 5 billion dollars with 10 to 20 years to complete once it gets started! In the short term users of I-70 will notice small improvements such as road improvements, auxiliary lanes, truck pull outs, and safety and capacity improvements.
Of course, much of the short term improvements will not cut down the driving time during peak traffic congestion found typically on the weekends with skier traffic, but they will help. One of the best things a driver can do is to plan ahead when driving to avoid having to be caught in the I-70 traffic for hours at a time by simply leaving before or after peak traffic hours.
