Dillon

Dillon was once where the Snake River that flows from Keystone, the Ten Mile Creek that flows from Frisco and the Blue River that flows from Breckenridge met. There it was a ranch town and earlier than that the site of a mountain man camp in the early 1800's. Today it is a town high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains that emphasizes mountain vistas, tremendous Colorado real estate and close proximity to nearby resort towns full of mountain real estate like Frisco Colorado, Keystone and Breckenridge, CO.

Located high above the north shore of Lake Dillon, residents and guests staying in their Dillon condominium or other mountain real estate all enjoy breath taking panoramic views of Lake Dillon and the surrounding peaks, such as the prominent Peak One located just above Frisco CO. The only other location in Summit County that has Colorado Real Estate with a close proximity to Lake Dillon is in Frisco Colorado with their Frisco Real Estate along the shores of the lake. Similar to Frisco water activities take center stage in the summer from the world's highest marina while the town's central location makes it an ideal place to headquarter amongst the ski areas in the winter. In fact, today one can rent boat, canoe or kayak or even take a 'Water Taxi' from Dillon across the lake to the Town of Frisco - a beautiful trip and a great way to view Frisco property and a wonderful way to spend some time in Summit County, CO.

While the town of Dillon is certainly a wonderful resort town located in Summit County, Colorado the county offers many other areas of interest, ski resorts, CO real estate and activities. Some of those Summit County towns loaded with mountain real estate are Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Silverthorne.

Dillon is truly unique in that all the resort town's mountain real estate along Lake Dillon offer spectacular views of the Colorado Rocky Mountains towards Keystone and Frisco Colorado and, of course, Lake Dillon. Some of those Peaks include Peak One of the Ten Mile Range which starts off in Frisco CO and runs south to Breckenridge. Some of those unique resort condo complexes include The Moorings, Summit Yacht club, Lake Cliffe, East Bay, Anchorage, Coeur Du Lac, Yacht Club and Marina Place. Of course, one can find similar lake front Co Real Estate in nearby towns such as Frisco Colorado.

The summer is simply a buzz with activities centered around the Dillon Town Core as well as their very own Dillon Marina where locals and visitors alike can enjoy activities on Lake Dillon such as sailing or boating. Besides the various activities, bike paths located between Dillon's resort real estate and the Lake, farmer's markets, sailing regattas Dillon also offers solitude with peace and quiet coupled with tremendous views.

In the winter Dillon offers a very convenient location where visitors and locals can find easy access to any of Summit County's world class ski resorts, Cross County ski centers, snowshoeing trail heads, dinning and shopping. Of course, the town of Dillon has its own special charm with shops, restaurants, many pocket parks and historic buildings; coupled with spectacular scenic views in all direction. No matter what you are looking for you can find it here in Dillon, CO.

The Town of Dillon used to be located well below Lake Dillon where the Blue River, the Ten Mile River and the Snake River merged together. Once the Denver Water Board started the process to build a Dam and form Lake Dillon in the late 50's the Town of Dillon moved to its current location, high above the shores of Lake Dillon where the town continues to thrive and provide tremendous real estate with views for travelers and locals to hang their hat.

Speaking of Lake Dillon, the lake is the largest body of water in the area consisting of 26 miles of shoreline with magnificent mountain views, wildlife, boating and easy access to the Town of Dillon. On the edge of the Town of Dillon along the shore of Lake Dillon one can find something else very unique about Dillon and that is the Lake Dillon Amphitheatre; which offers free concerts, nature nights and other entertainment.
